Ruth J. Barta, MD (Woodbury & St. Paul)
Conveniently located to serve the Twin Cities
I was drawn to a career in plastic surgery because it allows me to provide both aesthetic and functional improvement for my patients. I treat all aspects of plastic surgery but have a special interest in pediatric plastic surgery. It is especially gratifying to improve a child’s life. I am excited to be able to provide the latest techniques in cleft lip and palate care, congenital malformations, and craniofacial reconstruction.
I strive to provide my patients the quality of care that I would give my own family members. I believe that good communication and understanding at every interaction along the way is as important to the final outcome as the surgery itself.
Aside from patient care, I hold a position of Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota and enjoy teaching residents and students. I volunteer my time to surgical missions in third world countries for cleft lip and palate repair, burn reconstruction, hand deformities, and other needed procedures.
In my spare time I enjoy running, adventure racing, and traveling.
