Options for Lip Augmentation
There are different methods available to enhance your lips. These methods include injectables such as JUVÉDERM® XC or fat grafting/fat injection. When injected beneath the skin, these fillers add fullness to the lips and plump up the creases. JUVÉDERM® XC
One of the injectables we use is JUVÉDERM® XC. JUVÉDERM® XC is a gel made of Hyaluronic Acid that is injected into the lip area.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar complex in the skin that maintains the moisture and volume of your skin. JUVÉDERM® XC replaces the hyaluronic acid that your skin has lost over time to restore volume in your lips and create a more defined lip line.
With injectables, you can expect:
- Most JUVÉDERM® XC procedures take less than fifteen minutes in-office
- Discomfort to be minimal and brief, with a return to normal activities immediately
- To see immediate results
- Results to last eight to twelve months, although your own results may vary
Fat Grafting / Fat Injection
Fat grafting uses your own fat cells to add fullness to your lips. Fat cells are carefully removed from one part of your body, such as the abdomen or thigh, and then injected into the lip area. The procedure is done under local anesthesia. Only a small amount of fat cells are removed so it is not noticeable in the removal area.
With fat grafting you can expect:
- Visible swelling that will diminish over time
- To most likely need more than one fat grafting to get your desired results
- To have permanent results depending on your weight stability.
